Noel Butler (AUS) Director of Jamanee Gunya
Noel Butler is a Budawang man from the South Coast of New South Wales
and is the Director of Jamanee Gunya, a non-profit organisation that
runs courses in Aboriginal culture and healing on his land near
Ulladulla. Noel has a special interest in Aboriginal bush medicine
and is a horticulturalist by profession . He has worked extensively
with indigenous communities throughout the Northern Territory and the
Kimberleys, and currently runs courses for both indigenous and non-
indigenous people in Aboriginal culture. His course in bush medicine
has now been taken up the the medical faculty at Sydney University .
Noel is a consultant to the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service
and is president of the Budawang Aboriginal Landcare Group . He teaches at various universities and Tafes and is on different committees for environmental projects. He is also an accomplished artist, exhibiting his works in many different public galleries.
