Welcome to the 2009 AYA Conference!

A momentous event to be held again in Sydney, Australia,
open to both the health care practitioners and anyone
interested in enhancing their own wellbeing

Ayurveda Yoga Australia invites you to attend our 2nd
International Ayurveda and Yoga Conference on the

3-5th April 2009

This Conference is about health, wellness and awareness that is becoming extremely popular with the rich ancient sciences and heritages of India, Ayurveda and Yoga. We are getting the authentic Authorities and Pandits to educate both the Health professionals who will benefit on a professional level enhancing their knowledge and skills right through to the lay person. From the high flying executive to the office worker, to the mums and their children, as well as the elderly, we want to show them that to be in control of your lives, you can create a day by design, following these simple day to day routines through diet, exercise, meditation, use of kitchen herbs, oils, breathing techniques, self massage, treatments, etc. In short, to be able to lead healthy happy lives they would love to live.

Attending was very rewarding. Thank you for making the conference a reality for all to share.
Luckily both Philip Stevens and Dr Svoboda have workshops here in Melbourne in the coming months which, having heard their keynote addresses at the AYA conference, I booked immediately.  Thank you again for the conference.  There are many people I have spoken to who are deeply grateful for the opportunity to have attended such an event here in Australia.  On a personal and professional level it has given me much inspiration to pursue my studies and practice as well as opened my eyes to a whole new world of possibilities for which I am thankful.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of you for your amazing efforts and generosity in organizing the Conference.  It was a privilege to have such close access to such a feast of wonderful scholars and teachers.  Quite an incredible event.  I know it was an enormous amount of work for you all and it’s so very much appreciated.  I especially loved Dr Gopalakrishnan, who was an absolute delight,  and lovely to see Dr Kumar again. And of course, having Robert Svoboda there was the icing on the cake!   All the speakers were good and all had something of real value to inspire and nourish.

Thank you again with love and appreciation,

Enjoyed the AYA conference very much and realize what a lot of hard work went into the organizing of it. I am on the management committee of the IYTA (International Yoga Teachers’ Association) and we are just beginning to organize an IYTA World Yoga Convention for next September/October time. It will be on a smaller scale than the AYA but there are still a  multitude of tasks ahead of us with hardly enough time to do everything.

Again congratulations on such a successful and enjoyable event. I have a DVD of the first conference and would like to purchase a DVD of this last one when they are ready. If you let me know the cost, I will be able to include it in the payment I will make later today for the gift voucher.

I really enjoyed my time on Saturday, especially seeing Brother Satyananda And Doctor Ian Gawler.

Professional, beautiful, and informative. My mind boggles at the amount of work and organisation it must have taken to pull it together.

I think I would not be alone in saying that it was my honour to be invited to participate and compared to all other yoga conferences i have seen this had more integrity and was more about the spirit of yoga than anything i have seen so far. Thank you to you Sevedevi and please extend warm thank and appreciation to all the wonderful organisers.
You have enriched our lives

I would like to echo the sentiments in Simon's reply.
The positive feeling, depth and spirit of the conference was tangible. It was a pleasure to be involved, even in a small way.
I would like you all to know that I would certainly like to be more involved at the next conference, particularly in the area of mental health and yoga psychology.

Many thanks for the opportunity,

The Inaugural Conference in 2006 has been hailed as a breakthrough event in the history of Ayurveda and Yoga, with over 400 people in attendance. The conference was a truly inspiring experience for all and included a host of international and national speakers sharing their knowledge and wisdom.

Ayurveda is the ancient Indian science of medicine and healthy lifestyle based on the elements of nature, while Yoga means to 'unite'. Both traditions work towards balancing and harmonising the mind-body-soul complex.

These sciences from India have existed for over 5,000 years in written texts and beyond as an oral tradition.

Who Should Attend?

This unique conference bringing together both ancient and modern wisdom, aims to inspire and invigorate, creating an authentic event for like-minded individuals to come together in the spirit of self - exploration, empowerment and improvement.

2006 conference hosted a wide audience from the natural health industries to the professionals such as nurses, general practitioners, surgeons, physiotherapists, accountants and nutritionists to the layperson interested in their general health and wellbeing.

2009 conference provides an excellent opportunity for educating not only those already familiar with Ayurveda and Yoga and in the natural health industry, but also the larger, perhaps less knowledgeable mainstream audiences, all of whom are searching for answers in maintaining health with holistic tools and techniques and natural balancing modalities for the mind body and emotions.
